For years, we have been asking for a new 3D
Zelda game that stands out as a possible rival to Ocarina of Time, Twilight
Princess or Wind Waker, and like always; Nintendo delivers (Oh well, almost always),
a game, no; a gift named Breath of the Wild blessed us with its existence, so;
like with the Super Mario Odyssey top 7, today we are counting down the top 7
reasons why Breath of the Wild is BETTER than you think!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.
THE
OPEN WORLD
(This is when you know, you are up to something great)
I know, I know; this is by far the most obvious
reason; but if it was not here then this list would not be believable in any
possible way, though today we will not talk about how great it is to explore
this vast world, or about the secrets to offer endlessly adventures, instead;
about how it impacts the Zelda series as a whole since it means innovation , a
new step for the franchise to evolve from the usual 3D dungeon explorations
that we are used to; giving the game series a new fresh of air and more
possibilities for future games, and seeing how this game sold; I would like to
say that this innovation is going to make the developers produce more games in
a shorter span of time, sometimes is great to twist the formula for new
experiences, well; “sometimes”, yeah; I am looking at you, Paper Mario Series!
2.
THE
STORY ENVIROMENT
(No heart can take this cuteness)
While yes, this is another common reason, so
yadda yadda; characters are great and the memories idea is well executed
(Though, could be better if the King of Hyrule did not spoil anything at the
start), but like before I prefer to take onto another view to this reason as to
why Breath of the Wild is so great; this one being that it changes the
narration of the franchise, now Link is not a mask for the player to project
himself anymore, instead he is his own individual, he has a story, he has
feelings (Kinda, between him and the Sun and Moon players; I do not know which
needs how to express those feelings in their faces), which opens the idea for
new stories full of charm characters that will have significant interactions
and relationships links to Link (No pun intended) to a personal level!
3.
THE
FANDOM DISCOVERIES
(This guy has made so many discoveries)
Yeah, for the first time in history; the fandom
is an important part of enjoying this game, and this also includes YOU! Like
youtubers such as Mety333, who not only creates entertainment but also makes
new discoveries while playing with the game physics; even Anouma (The game
developer) watched one of his videos, surprised he found new things that not
even he knew about; the fandom itself helps the game when it comes to creating
replay value that the creators were not sure about, making the game better than
you would think; or vice versa, you WOULD think of it and share this
discoveries to the world for all the fans across the internet!
4.
TIMELINE
DESTROYED
(Seriously though, what are they doing here alongside the Zoras?)
Wait, what? The timeline being so obscure that
it is almost impossible for us to discover where this game is placed on the
timeline even if we create millions of theories is a good thing that makes the
game even better? Yes my dear reader, indeed it is even if I am dragging this
joke on too long; we know for sure that the developers never pay attention to
the timeline while creating a game unless it is a direct sequel or prequel of
another already existing Zelda game, therefore; this not only make us speculate
more giving more content to the fandom to play with, but also; it makes the game
stands out more with the idea of including the different species to the world,
making it richer in content; from Zoras to Ritos that should not exist in the
same game thanks to the Wind Waker storyline (The game that introduced Ritos as
Zoras that evolved thanks to the great flood), all of this just adds more charm
to the whole game!
5.
SO
MUCH MOVEMENT
(This is not how you do it, Nintendo!)
Movement? But there is a stamina bar! How can
there be movement? To answer that, we should take a look at the other Zelda
games, in which you could not jump (Except for that cape in four swords) and
your fastest move was the rolling; here thanks to the big world to explore,
Link feels so free to control, jumping, gliding, running like the speed of
sound; it is just great to play and while it may sound a little bit worthless;
trust me you FEEL the change whenever you do something, maybe that is why I
prefer more stamina bars rather than heart containers!
6.
POSSIBILITY
FOR DLCS
(This art always gives me the chills)
We already know that some DLCs already came and
others are still coming to the game, this gives so much replay value to the
whole videogame, who knows what it is coming? Armors? New modes? More story?
MORE SIDON???? Nobody knows aside from the developers, but from what we know;
it is going to be amazing no matter what, which means that this plus the
secondary quests, the exploration and the fandom gives hours of hours to enjoy
every single part that this game offers, and is going to offer more!
7.
LASTLY,
THE SHRINES
(HOLY-)
Yeah, it may not seem as much, but hear me out
(Or read me in this case); while they are little dungeons that look like they
are not that much, the sense that you feel whenever you find a new one, a
thrill of hype crawls on your spine thanks to the unknown puzzle that you will
have to face eventually, either by doing an awesome and fun side quest; or just
by finding them and realizing that you have a new teleporting point, this just
makes the game for me! Though, it does not excuse the developers for making
such boring and charmless boss dungeons and boss battles!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(If you do not buy this game for these reasons, do it for him)
So with this reasons, what are you waiting to
get a Nintendo Switch and a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild copy if you
still do not have one? You are, literally; missing one of the biggest legends
that you could ever experience in your life!
